With Fantasy Baseball season only weeks away, there are still players available for any fantasy team. To know who they are, one must read this week’s Start/Sit.

Starting Pitcher in focus: Scott Feldman

In his last six starts, he is 5-0, with a 2.89 ERA. During that span, he has held opponents to a .268  average and is scheduled to pitch on the road in week 22. On the road this year, Feldman is 10-1, with a 2.92 ERA in 13 starts. He is an excellent start for week 22.

Pitchers we love for week 22: Josh Johnson, Rich Harden, John Danks, Joel Pineiro, Randy Wells

Starter to Avoid for week 22: Ryan Dempster

In his last seven starts, he is 3-2, with an ERA of 4.30. During that span, opponents are hitting .279 against him. His next start is against the Chicago White Sox, where he has struggled against them in the past. In 11 career starts, he is 1-3, with an ERA of 6.35, making him a risky start for week 22.

Other Starters to Avoid for week 22: Cole Hamels, Jarrod Washburn, Derek Holland, Joe Saunders, Mike Pelfrey

Position Players: Infielders:

In his last 28 games, 1B Daniel Murphy is hitting .294, with one home run, and ten RBI. He is also eligible in the outfield. Looking for a good value for week 22, NL-Only leagues should consider him.

In his last 28 games, 2B Howie Kendrick is hitting .357, with four home runs, and 24 RBI. His OPS is a staggering .944. He has emerged as a viable option, and is recommended in mixed leagues for week 22.

In his last 21 games SS Brendan Ryan has done well. Over that stretch, he has one home run, with 11 RBI, and is hitting .348. His OPS during his hot streak is .864 and he has scored 11 runs. He is a definite NL-Only league start for week 22.

In his last ten games 3B Andy Marte has three home runs, with 12 RBI, and has raised his average from .207 to .289. He is starting to get regular at-bats and it is long overdue for the former top prospect. Consider him in mixed leagues for week 22.

Infielder to Avoid: Aubrey Huff

In 23 games since the All-Star break, he is hitting .195, with one home run, and ten RBI. His OPS during that stretch is .551. He has not been what the Tigers or Fantasy owners hope for and should be on the bench for week 22.

Outfielders:

OF Pat Burrell is becoming a valuable player in AL-Only leagues. In his last 22 games, he is hitting .295, with five home runs, 12 RBI, and 11 runs scored. He has emerged as a solid option for week 22.

Over his last 26 games OF Matt Diaz is hitting .416, with six home runs, and 18 RBI. During that span, he has scored 17 runs and has an OPS of 1.072. He is a must start in mixed leagues for week 22.

Over his last 23 games OF Jonny Gomes is on fire. Over that span, he has six home runs, with 16 RBI, and is hitting .294. He is getting plenty of at-bats and is becoming a viable option in NL-Only leagues.

Outfielder to Avoid in week 20: Jermaine Dye

Over his last 22 games, he is hitting .183, with one home run, and eight RBI. His OPS is a mere .519. He has been losing at-bats to newly acquired OF Alex Rios and should be on the bench for week 22.

Catchers: Matt Wieters

In his last 24 games, he has two home runs, and 13 RBI. Over that stretch, he is hitting .258 and the Baltimore Orioles will play six games at home, where Wieters excels. In 31 games, he is hitting .319, with three home runs, and 12 RBI. Do not hesitate to plug him as a No. 2 Fantasy catcher for week 22.

Catcher to Avoid: Jason Varitek

Relief Pitchers: Fernando Rodney

He has not allowed a run in his last seven appearances, and is holding opponents to a .172 batting average. Since the All-Star break, he has an ERA of 2.04 and has converted 28 of 29 save opportunities on the year. He is a definite option for mixed leagues for week 22.

Relief Pitcher to Avoid: Joakim Soria
