With Fantasy Baseball season fast approaching its end, there are still players available for any Fantasy team. To know who they are one must read this week’s Start/Sit.

Starting Pitcher in focus: Barry Zito
In his last six starts, he is 3-1, with a 2.27 ERA. During that span, he has held opponents to a .227 average and is scheduled to pitch twice against the Colorado Rockies in week 21. In eight career starts against the Rockies, he is 2-2 with a 2.25 ERA, making him a must start for week 21.
Pitchers we love for week 21: Jered Weaver, Rich Harden, Jair Jurrjens, Jason Marquis, Scott Baker, Joe Blanton
Starter to Avoid for week 21: Kevin Millwood
In his last seven starts, he is 1-3, with an ERA of 5.70. During that span, opponents are hitting .289 against him. His next start is against the New York Yankees, where he has struggled against them in the past. In eight career starts, he is 1-4, with an ERA of 4.50, making him a risky start for week 21.
Other Starters to Avoid for week 21: Bronson Arroyo, Gil Meche, Ross Ohlendorf
Position Players: Infielders:
In his last 34 games 1B Kyle Blanks, he is hitting .287, with nine home runs, and 17 RBI. His OPS is 1.009, and has scored 20 runs during his hot streak. He is a definite sleeper player and an excellent NL-Only option for week 21.
In his last 20 games, 2B Mark Ellis is hitting .386, with two home runs, and 21 RBI. His OPS is a staggering .921. He has emerged as a viable option, and is a recommended AL-Only start for week 21.
Since being called up SS Alcides Escobar has done well. In his last nine games, he is hitting .320, with one home run, and two RBI. Over his last two years in the minors, he had 12 home runs, with 109 RBI, and has 75 stolen bases. In 2007, he hit .305, and in 2008 he hit .327. Before being called up, he was hitting .297, making him a must start in all Rotisserie leagues.
In his last 28 games 3B Jake Fox has four home runs, with 17 RBI, and is hitting .254. With OF Alfonso Soriano struggling, look for Fox to get plenty at-bats in week 21.
Infielder to Avoid: Paul Konerko
In 17 games since the All-Star break, he is hitting .192, with two home runs, and four RBI. His OPS during that stretch is a mere .660. He is in the midst of a 7 for 44 stretch, fantasy owners should put him on the bench for week 21.
Outfielders:
OF Carlos Gonzalez is becoming a valuable player in NL-Only leagues. In his last 19 games, he is hitting .377, with six home runs, 13 RBI, and 14 runs scored. During his hot stretch, he has an OPS of 1.207. He is on the verge of becoming a star and should start in week 21.
Over his last 20 games OF Chris Coghlan is hitting .378, with two home runs, and 14 RBI. During that span, he has scored 16 runs and has an OPS of .973. He is also eligible at 3rd base, making him a must start in mixed leagues for week 21.
Over his last 20 games OF Will Venable is on fire. Over that span, he has four home runs, with 12 RBI, and is hitting .323. He is getting plenty at-bats and is becoming a viable option for NL-Only leagues.
Outfielder to Avoid in week 20: Luke Scott
Over his last 29 games, Scott is hitting .170, with two home runs, and seven RBI. His OPS is a mere .560. He has been struggling of late and should be on the bench for week 21.
Catchers: Jeff Baker
In his last 25 games, he has one home run, and 13 RBI. Over that stretch, he is hitting .301 and the Florida Marlins will play six games at home, where Baker excels. In 41 games, he is hitting .301, with five home runs, and 19 RBI. Do not hesitate to plug him as a No. 2 Fantasy catcher for week 21.
Catcher to Avoid: Geovany Soto
Relief Pitchers: Jim Johnson
He has allowed only one run in his last seven appearances, and is holding opponents to a .226 batting average. His ERA during that span is 1.08 and has converted all three save opportunities in August. On the year, he is 3-4, with an ERA of 2.86. Fantasy owners desperate for saves should consider him for week 21.
Relief Pitcher to Avoid: Matt Capps
