Week 14 is here, and with the All-Star break approaching, underrated players are still producing. To know who they are one must read this week’s Start/Sit for week 14.

Starting Pitcher in focus: Randy Wells

In his last six starts, he is 3-1 with a 2.84 ERA, and has held opponents to a .230 batting average in June. His next two starts will be at home, where Wells is 1-2 with a 3.09 ERA in four starts. Fantasy owners should strongly consider him for week 14.

Pitchers we love for week 14: CC Sabathia, Josh Beckett, Matt Cain, Javier Vazquez, Yovani Gallardo, Cole Hamels, Josh Johnson, Adam Wainwright, Johnny Cueto, Kevin Millwood, Jair Jurrjens, Clayton Kershaw, Mark Buehrle, James Shields, Ryan Dempster, Ricky Romero.

Starter to Avoid for week 14: Aaron Harang

In his last six starts, Harang is 0-3 with a 3.22 ERA. However, his next two starts will be on the road, where Harang has struggled. In eight games on the road, he is 1-5 with a 4.94 ERA, and opponents are hitting .316 against him. Fantasy owners should be cautious and not start him for week 14.

Other Starters to Avoid for week 14: Andy Pettitte, Gil Meche, J.A. Happ, Jarrod Washburn, Jordan Zimmermann, Armando Galarraga, Barry Zito.

Position Players: Infielders

In his last eight games, 1B Travis Ishikawa is hitting .272, with two home runs, and nine RBI. In week 14, the San Francisco Giants will play all seven of their games at home, where he is hitting .346 with four home runs and 20 RBI.

In his last ten games, 2B Alberto Callaspo is hitting .297 with one home run and five RBI. He has scored seven runs, and has an OPS on the year of .810. He is currently hitting .301, and is a viable option for week 14.

SS Edgar Renteria finished the month of June with a .293 average and collected 13 RBI. He has continued that momentum in July and is hitting .364. He is a viable option for NL-only leagues in week 14.

3B Gordon Beckham is starting to heat up. In his last nine games, he has two home runs, with eight RBI, and has raised his average from .183 to .275. He is a viable option for mixed leagues for week 14.

Other Infielders to Consider: Maicer Izturis, Jose Lopez, Yunel Escobar.

Infielder to Avoid: Orlando Hudson

In the first two months of the season he hit 333, yet that changed in June. In 24 games, Hudson hit .222, with ten RBI. His OPS on the season is .717, and in June it was only .612. He should be on the bench for week 14.

Outfielders:

OF Garret Anderson is becoming a valuable player in mixed leagues. In 24 games in June, he hit .306 with three home runs and 12 RBI. He has continued that in July, and already has one home run and three RBI in three games.

Over his last 13 games OF Marlon Byrd is hitting .291 with three home runs, and 11 RBI. All six games next week are scheduled at night, where Byrd is hitting .286, with six home runs, and 31 RBI.

OF Mark Teahen finished the month of June red hot. In 26 games, he had three home runs with 11 RBI and hit .297. Over his last ten games, he is hitting .361, and should be considered for week 14.

Other Outfielders to Consider: Josh Willingham, Nate Schierholtz, Franklin Gutierrez.

Outfielder to Avoid in week 14: Hideki Matsui

Over his last 15 games, Matsui is hitting .275, with two home runs, and only four RBI. His finished June hitting a mere .204, and is not a recommended start for week 14.

Catchers: Gerald Laird

Over his last 11 games, he is hitting .405, with two home runs, and eight RBI. He has raised his average from .215 to .239. He is a great AL-only option for week 14.

Catcher to Avoid: Dioner Navarro

Relief Pitchers: Leo Nunez

He has emerged as the closer for the Florida Marlins, and has done well. He is holding opponents to a .209 batting average on the year, and Fantasy owners looking for saves should consider him for week 14.

Relief Pitcher to Avoid: Fernando Rodney
