Week Eleven Waiver Wire Pickups Fantasy Football's Week Eleven Waiver Wire Pickups are here! Many of these free agents have Week Eleven starter potential or should be monitored closely as fantasy football owners make a run for the playoffs. With the NFL bye weeks behind, it is critical to maintain depth and take advantage of matchups. These players are available in the majority of standard ESPN and Yahoo! leagues as of November 15th. QUARTERBACKS
Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions – Stafford threw for 224 yards and a score against a tough Minnesota defense. Most importantly, Stafford did not turn the ball over after an embarrassing turnover performance in Week Nine. Calvin Johnson has returned to the starting lineup and Stafford has a favorable matchup at home against Cleveland in Week Eleven. Stafford is available in 94% of ESPN leagues and 88% of Yahoo! leagues. Marc Bulger, St. Louis Rams – The Rams challenged the unbeaten streak of the Saints in Week Ten. Marc Bulger threw for 298 yards, two scores and only turned the ball over once. Steven Jackson played well and the offense was firing on all cylinders. Bulger faces the Cardinals at home in Week Eleven and is available in 96% of ESPN leagues and 93% of Yahoo! leagues. RUNNING BACKS
Ladell Betts, Washington Redskins – Betts got the start against a tough Denver defense and posted 120 total yards and a score. Clinton Portis missed the game with a concussion and his status will have to be monitored closely this week to determine if Betts still has any fantasy value. Concussions may be treated more carefully as Brian Westbrook had his second in his past two starts against San Diego. Betts is available in 83% of ESPN leagues and 73% of Yahoo! leagues. Jason Snelling, Atlanta Falcons – Snelling filled in admirably after Michael Turner left the game against Carolina with a high ankle sprain. The third-year running back out of Virginia ended the day with 93 total yards and a score. Snelling should be owned at least as insurance for Turner for the Week Eleven matchup with the Giants. Snelling is available in 100% of ESPN leagues and 93% of Yahoo! leagues. Justin Forsett, Seattle Seahawks – The second-year player out of California took over after Julius Jones left the game with a rib injury that landed him in the hospital. Forsett turned 22 touches into 149 total yards and a score against Arizona. Jones’ injury status will have to be monitored but it will be hard to keep Forsett out of the lineup going forward. Seattle faces a tough Minnesota defense in Week Eleven and then the schedule lightens up as they face St. Louis, San Francisco, Houston and Tampa Bay in upcoming weeks. Forsett is available in 98% of ESPN leagues and 90% of Yahoo! leagues. WIDE RECEIVERS
Donnie Avery, St. Louis Rams – Avery scored two touchdowns against the Saints giving him four scores in his past five games. He is a legitimate scoring threat and after an extremely slow start, Avery is catching fire. The second year wide receiver is available in 56% of ESPN leagues and 64% of Yahoo! leagues. Jeremy Maclin, Philadelphia Eagles – the rookie out of Missouri has been inconsistent but has maintained his starting job for the Eagles. He had a big game against the Chargers with 76 yards and a score playing opposite DeSean Jackson. Maclin will face the Bears in Chicago in Week Eleven and is available in 58% of ESPN leagues and 43% of Yahoo! leagues. Robert Meachem, New Orleans Saints – Meachem now has 242 yards and three scores in his last five games. This includes a goose egg against Miami showing his inconsistency. He has upside and New Orleans faces blowout candidates at Tampa Bay and then a shootout against New England at home in upcoming weeks. Meachem is available in 90% of ESPN leagues and 86% of Yahoo! leagues. TIGHT ENDS
Dustin Keller, New York Jets – With top tight ends Chris Cooley and Owen Daniels out, owners are looking for warm bodies. Keller has 14 catches, 134 yards and a score in his last two games. The Jets will use the talented tight end as they travel to New England in Week Eleven. Keller is available in 47% of ESPN leagues and 53% of Yahoo! leagues. Benjamin Watson, New England Patriots – Watson only had one reception for 36 yards against the Colts. His main value is as a safety valve and occasional red-zone target in the high powered New England offense. The Patriots host the Jets in Week Eleven and Watson is available in 65% of ESPN leagues and 51% of Yahoo! leagues. DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS
Cincinnati Bengals – The Bengals play at Oakland in Week Eleven after an inspired win at Pittsburgh in Week Ten. JaMarcus Russell was benched against Kansas City after another miserable performance. Bruce Gradkowski finished the game with 46 yards passing and two interceptions. The Bengals are available in 67% of ESPN leagues and 54% of Yahoo! leagues. Dallas Cowboys – The Cowboys Defense managed four sacks against Green Bay and did not force a turnover. Dallas has favorable matchups against Washington and Oakland at home in the upcoming weeks. Dallas is available in 67% of ESPN leagues and 33% of Yahoo! leagues. KICKERS
Shayne Graham, Cincinnati Bengals – Graham has now made at least one field goal in eight straight games including four out of five in a Week Ten victory over Pittsburgh. The Bengals have been moving the ball in 2009 and face Oakland, Cleveland, and Detroit in the next three weeks. Graham is available in 98% of ESPN leagues and 97% of Yahoo! leagues. Jeff Reed, Pittsburgh Steelers – Reed also kicked four field goals in Week Ten, and the Steelers have been passing and running the ball well. Pittsburgh plays at Kansas City in Week Eleven and then at Baltimore, Oakland and at Cleveland for some favorable matchups. Reed is available in 89% of ESPN leagues and 74% of Yahoo! leagues.
Who else is available in the majority of leagues and has the potential to be this year’s fantasy sleeper? Check back weekly for waiver wire updates. Trackback(0)
