As I sit at my desk preparing for the next snooze fest which is the Caribbean World Series, I decided to place my thoughts on paper. My thoughts are all over the place but centered on the world of baseball. The 2010 season is fast approaching so let us know, where you are in your baseball mind. At FantasyPros911.com we are easily the most accessible people in the fantasy sports industry. You can reach any of the guys on Facebook, which we include, daily polls (http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=28238927564) . On the premium site we give you two options of communication with a 1-800 number or by email. On our podcasts at www.Blogtalkradio.com we welcome phone calls and have some of the most interactive shows on the internet. So you can be part of the passion that is www.FantasyPros911.com or you can sit on the park bench and look at cheerleaders.
1) Why are people drafting Joe Mauer in round 1? Has any catcher lived up to a first round selection since Mike Piazza (possibly enhanced)? Then the fact that Joe Mauer is actually playing in a new stadium this season, doesn’t worry you? Is it a hitters or pitchers park? We do not have the information; at this point it is all speculation. Folks you’re better than that, Mauer in round one makes as much sense as Tiger Woods recovery updates!
2) Russell Branyan is holding out for 3 years and 20 million dollars! Russell, place your agent on the phone, hit the speaker phone button and lets all sing along. I drink alone yeah, with nobody else. I drink alone yeah, with nobody else. Yeah when I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself! 3) Ruben Amaro Jr. as the Phillies General Manager is in way over his head. Mr. Amaro: let’s break it down for the people. In order to bring Roy Halladay to Philadelphia you had to shed $8 million in payroll. Cliff Lee was then jettisoned, along with his $8 million salary to the Seattle Mariners. Then Mr. Amaro Jr proceeded to grace the Caucasian Charles Barkley with a three year, $24 million contract to pitch for the Phillies. Cliff Lee or Joe Blanton is such a no-brainer that even Ed Wade could have made the right call.
4) Grady Sizemore spent the offseason adjusting to a new cup. http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2009/11/grady-sizemore-pictures-almost-nude-entirely-hilarious/ 5) Matt Holliday was rewarded an astounding $120 million dollars to provide comfort to Albert Pujols. The Cardinals appeared to be the only bidders in this process. If the Cardinals had shopped around maybe UNICEF would have been cheaper.
