| The fantastic Dave Cameron wrote an excellent article about regression to the mean on his well known Mariners blog, U.S.S. Mariner. This is a must read, especially for those readers interesting in understanding statistical analysis concepts better. What he talks about is a common problem most sports fans have: refusing to acknowledge how much luck influences events and trying to find explanations for which there are none.
