Karen Canales Discusses Fantasy Baseball Trades PDF Print E-mail

When it comes to my team, it seems to me that there is no reasonable trade. My team is suffering in every single category. During the draft, it seemed like the team that i created would be a good team, based on all the stats that were given to us at the begining of the season. But it turns out that the players that were expected to play well arent doing so well. The sad fact about my team, is that it relied on those perfomances. The two players that I was pretty happy to draft were 3B David Wright and SS J.J. Hardy. In the rankings that were created through using weighted average, it seemed that these two players would perfom very well.

One of the most important things to watch in Spring Training every year are position battles.  Watching the box scores daily and even monitoring statistically insignificant cumulative stats can help you pick a winner that will get the lion's share of at bats during the season.  Even though it doesn't normally impact fantasy baseball values, be sure to watch how players perform in the field.  In 'reality' baseball fielding matters and a good glove can earn more plate appearances.

It's still early in the fantasy baseball season but here are 10 interesting position battles to watch as Spring Training gets underway.

Five Comeback Players for Fantasy Football Drafts PDF Print E-mail
Player Analysis
Written by Jim Day

Chad Pennington can lay claim to one feat that no other NFL quarterback has ever been able to accomplish. No I am not referring to his having the weakest arm in NFL history, which may actually be true, but he is the only quarterback to ever win the Comeback Player of the Year award twice; once in 2005 and again in 2008.

Now we are not implying that Pennington has a shot to do it a third time in 2010, but if Henne were to go down… Anyway, here are five players with good shot at the award in 2010, with number one being my choice for the winner.

Rumor Central - Ted Lilly Edition

Rumor Central | Steve Parsons | Thursday, 2 September 2010

With the exception of some non-news on Ted Lilly, the ol' Central mainly has to talk about call-ups and playing time. The dust has more or less settled on playoff rosters with the possible exception of some injury replacements. Lilly, who had been passed through waivers, claimed by the Yankees and recalled is not headed to the Yankees playoff roster despite a highly theoretical idea being floated that somehow the Yankee's claim will "hold" the Yankees' right to include Ted on their playoff roster if somehow they acquire him down the line...oh, and they also get a pony. Unfortunately for the Yankees, the rule is very clear that they made the claim, the waivers were withdrawn and for Lilly to leave the Dodgers he would have to be made the subject of an entirely new waiver process. Plus, we understand the pony has been subpoenaed in the McCourt divorce trial. Lilly is not to be found in the Yankees' organization now, so no playoff roster for ...
