Chipper Jones clubbed his third homer of the season last night with an eighth inning shot off J.J. Dan Haren’s 1.47 ERA (7ER in 43.0 IP) through six games this season is the third best mark in the Majors, only Kansas City’s Zack Greinke (0.50 ERA) and the Mets’ Johan Santana (1.10 ERA) have compiled a better ERA to start the season...Haren has held opposing hitters to a .167 batting average, the lowest in the Majors...Among pithers with at least six starts, Haren is fourth with 43.0 innings pitched.

Edison Volquez allowed one hit in five innings in a 4-3 loss vs Atl on 4/24 and one hit in eight innings in Wed’s 3-0 win vs Hou to. Volquez became the first pitcher in the Major Leagues to record consecutive starts of at least five innings while allowing no more than one hit since Nationals' Shawn Hill did it on each side of a trip to the disabled list in 2007.

Indians catcher  Victor Martinez is off to a great start as he is batting .379 so far this season…He currently ranks third in the AL in avg (.379), second in hits (39), T5th in multi-hit games (11), tied for fifth in total bases (64), fourth in OBP (.455), tied for ninth in BB (16) & ninth in SLG (.621)…Martinez currently has hit in each of his last 13-games batting .400 (20-50) w/a HR & 7RBI…The 13G streak is tied for third longest in the AL this year.

Carl Crawford has stolen a base in seven consecutive games (12 total), extending his own club record (prev. five), the longest such streak in the majors since the Orioles’ Corey Patterson went nine consecutive games in 2006...In case you were wondering, when Rickey Henderson stole 130 bases in 1982, his longest streak was seven games and Lou Brock’s longest stretch was six games when he swiped 118 in 1974. Has a major-league leading 18 stolen bases, the earliest into any season he’s stolen this many bases;has yet to be caught.
