The second of the two leagues in which I will represent FantasyPros911 recently completed its draft. It was a crazy night for me as I was also completing my FantasyPros911 $100 mixed league draft. To make things a bit tougher, the plans I had for my son to be away from home that night fell through and I had to give him dinner and a bath while drafting two teams. Ahh…the life of a full time single dad!
The competition is tough in this league with a few very familiar names from the FantasyPros911 family also competing. Here are the participants in the order we drafted. And, yes, no industry league is complete without the ubiquitous Geoff Stein: 1. Jason Sarney, FantasyPhenoms.com
2. Geoffrey Stein, MockDraftCentral.com 3. Tim Dickens, RotoAuthority.com 4. Evan Dickens, FantasyBallSearch.com 5. Rob Reed, PlayerTrack.com
6. Tim McLeod, RotoRob.com
7. Tony Bartlett, FantasyBaseballUK.com 8. Kelly Pfleiger, FantasyGameDay.net
9. Chris Mulligan, FantasyPros911.com
10. Joe Lano, FantasyPros911.com 11. Bob Sikon, FantasyBaseballTrademarket.com 12. Rob Monacelli, BetweenGames.net Here is the team I drafted:
R1- Ryan Howard, 1B, 45 HR and 135 RBI? More please!.
R2- BJ Upton, OF, Shoulder looks good, 30/30 could be on the way.
R3- Alex Rios, OF, Looking for 20/30 from him.
R4- Alexei Ramirez, 2B, 20/20 potential from a second baseman
R5- David Ortiz, UTL, I still see .300, 30+ HR and 100+ RBI.
R6- Joe Nathan, RP, At least 35 saves the past five seasons.
R7- Francisco Liriano, SP, Looks fully recovered from Tommy John surgery. R8- Michael Young, SS, Move to third should do him good.
R9- Andre Ethier, OF, Hitting in front of Manny again makes a huge difference. R10- Joba Chamberlain, SP, I am drinking the Kool Aid and see a big year. R11- Edwin Encarnacion, 3B, He keeps turning up on my teams. Another 25 HR season. R12- Josh Johnson, SP, See Francisco Liriano.
R13- Justin Upton, OF, Love the upside.
R14- Heath Bell, RP, He is definitely closer-ready.
R15- Carlos Marmol, RP, How long before Piniella changes his mind?
R16- Ubaldo Jimenez, SP, If he gets some control, look out!
R17- Gil Meche, SP, The Rodney Dangerfield of starting pitchers.
R18- Ramon Hernandez, C, Should hit at least 15 HR in Cincinnati.
R19- Brad Ziegler, RP, With Joey Devine’s sore elbow, plenty of save chances could come. R20- Fred Lewis, OF, Has nice talent and is on the rise.
R21- Wandy Rodriguez, SP, Has good stuff, needs to stay healthy.
R22- Clint Barmes, MI, A starter now, could easily go 15/15.
R23- Kurt Suzuki, C, A solid number 2 catcher this late.
R24- Mike Lowell, CI, Hip looks fine. Could be a steal.
R25- Yunel Escobar, SS, A very nice SS, MI backup.
R26- Mike Cameron, OF, Will have to play him first week in BJ Upton’s spot. R27- Ryan Garko, 1B, Could gain OF eligibility this season. Coming off a 90 RBI season. If my high risk, high reward pitchers come through and the young hitters reach new heights, I should be right in the mix at the end. I look forward to the season and using the advice I get here on the site as we move forward. I would like to know what you think about the team, so please comment below. Trackback(0)
