Top News : Cubs manager Lou Piniella hinted to the Chicago Tribune that 3B Aramis Ramirez (calf) could be headed to the disabled list if he is unable to run today.

 



AL Mashup :
Joba Chamberlain won his first start of the season, allowing three singles, striking out six and walking three...Nick Swisher homered from both sides of the plate Wednesday night against the Tigers...Gil Meche is not expected to miss his next start after leaving Tuesday night's game with a lower back injury...Don't expect Matt Wieter's up with the Orioles prior to June...John Smoltz' rehab is being pushed back a week.  Smoltz is expected to be back by early June according to team sources...B.J. Ryan was told to quit throwing for a week after an MRI revealed inflammation in his trapezius muscle...Zack Greinke improved to 5-0 and finally gave up his first earned runs of the season...Alex Rodriguez is hoping to get four to five at bats in a scheduled extended spring training game Thursday in Tampa...Brian Anderson suffered an oblique injury in Wednesday's game and is expected to miss some time...Brian Tallet was ripped for 10 runs over four innings...A.J.
