Week 13 of the MLB season has finally arrived, and fans are now beginning to see the growth of several rising squads. The Colorado Rockies are untouchable, the Baltimore Orioles have swept the Phillies, the Rays are on the rise once again, and Manny Ramirez is on a rehab assignment. |

Week 12 is now upon us, as the All-Star game voting is heating up and fans begin deciding who will represent the teams in St. Louis. Many people like to refer to the special occasion as a “popularity contest,” as only the top-named players in baseball make the trip each year. Here on the waiver wire, though, we like to give some of the lesser-named men some notoriety. As always, each player’s availability at ESPN, Yahoo! Sports, and CBS Sports is displayed. So here is the Week 12 Waiver Wire.

During this time of the year, many Major League Baseball owners are busy attempting to work out deals and scrolling through their options as the trade deadline slowly draws closer. Fantasy baseball owners are in the same situation. With many solid options still floating around in waivers, people are looking for the best options to add to their squad, whether it be a superstar in disguise or a “hot” veteran for the bench. Below are ten names that could prove to be useful as the season draws on. Looking at the list, each player’s availability at ESPN, Yahoo! Sports, and CBS Sports are displayed. Now, without further ado, here is the Week 11 Waiver Wire.

It’s time to finally pull out some early season BABIP numbers and this week we can look at pitchers who are “struggling” right now, but are headed for much better results. As a reminder, pitchers have little to no control on BABIP and it is more a factor of luck, team defense and league average. It’s been shown some pitchers can keep a lower BABIP and is usually a factor of stadium, defense or an effective pitch like the cutter. |

Are you frustrated that Jon Lester or Ricky Nolasco is killing your ERA? Perhaps your infield is Lance Berkman, Brandon Phillips, JJ Hardy and Edwin Encarnacion? These are all reasons your team may have been off to a slow start, but it's also not the time to get discouraged or even bench these players. You can never predict a 2-homer game or a 9 strikeout complete game. Here are some early season players who have struggled, but you can be assured this is due to luck and will soon improve.

Some of these are no brainers, but lets look through some players who are unlucky in their BABIP in this young season. Remember, not all hitters will regress to .300; those that do not will typically regress to their normal career level. |

We are still a little early in the season to start looking into luck and regression factors like BABIP and LD%. I think there are still some good sleepers on the wire, and one injury risk to take a shot on. You shouldn’t drop anyone of great value, but if you have a lot of filler then you can make the move. |

By now most leagues are drafted, but are you ready for the season yet? Have you had to deal with injuries or players sent down to the minors? Here are some options to grab off the waiver wire who probably shouldn’t be there to begin with. Again my ADPs are from ESPN's live draft ADP tool. |

When we next discuss sleepers we will be only a short time away from Opening Day. I hope those who have drafted have done well and those who have not can hopefully pull a few names out of this article to get for good value. Here are some names that have been undervalued so far in 2009 and might make good choices for your team. (All ADP are according to ESPN) |

Here are a couple of players who have dealt with oblique strains last year and this spring. They are being undervalued this year and could make great value picks. These are guys you want to look for around their current ADPs in your 2009 drafts. |
